The Builders' Conference having conuludedits session, the delegates waited on the Labor Bills Committee to-day, and James Greig of Christchurch gave evidence* on behalf of the Council on the Factories and Conciliation Bills.

Custom's Changes. The following changes in the Customs Department have been decided upon. Mr McDowell collector at Greymouth is to be collector at Invercargill; Colebrook, landing waiter at Auckland is to be collector at Greymouth. Nixon, landing waiter at Dunedin is to be collector at Timaru. Eose, landing waiter at Wellington is to collector at Hokitika. Hawley, collector at Blenheim is to be collector at Poverty Bay. Jackman.in charge of the Blutt, will have charge of a similar oflice at Blenheim. Spence, landing waiter at Blenheim, is to be collector at Westport. Employers' Liability. In the Supreme Court to-day a case was heard in which John Gregory sued his employer, Peter McArdle for damages on account of injuries received through an accident caused when driving an alleged jibbing horse owned by defendThe jury awarded plaintiff JE93 12s. Stay of execution was granted for 14 days. The Queen's Memorial. At a meeting of the executive of the Queen's statue fund a letter was read from an eminent English sculptor saying that he could furnish a good bronze statue with granite pedestial for £2OO. It was resolved to obtain a sketchy of the proposed statue, and in the meantime to endeavor to obtain further subscriptions to the fund, which now amounts to £1623.
