THE HON. MR KERR’S ILLNESS
(OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Westport, This Day. Dn the arrival of the Haupiri yesterday, the steamer being delayed a tide, the Hon. Mr Kerr M.L.C., who became ill, was removed by his friends to Mrs Hughes’s cottage, adjoining the Empire Hotel. Dr. McKenzie was summoned and found him suffering from acute bronchial asthma. Every attention was given him, and Miss Hayward, matron of tho Hospital, nursed him during the night. Mr Kerr is very ill at present, but the doctor does not appear to think any serious results need be feared. The patient is in the best of hands, many old friends interesting themselves in the case. Mr Kerr jnri, is expected overland this afternoon.
