Grey Live Stock Market.
Messrs G. W. Moss and Co. report yesterday’s stock sales at Freston yards as follows:
The entry consisted of 103 cattle, 450 sheep from Wanganui and Foxton districts. There was a large attendance of buyers and all lines were cleared at an advance on late ruling rates. We sold the following stock Fat Cattle —On account of Mr John M'Gregor, 1 exceptionally heavy bullock, £l2 17s 6d ; 52 prime quality medium to heavy weights, £7 17s fid to £lO. Fat Sheep—On account of Mr Corcoran, 21 ewes, 18s 3d. On account of Mr John M‘Gregor, GO ewes, 17s fid; 100 wethers, 20s fid.
Fat and Store Pigs—On account of clients, 40 from £3 2s fid for baconers to £1 2s for stores.
Dairy Stock—Springers, £5 15s to £7,
Mark Sprot and Co. report their sale at Preston Road yesterday : —The entry of fat stock consisted of 100 head of prime North Island cattle and about 350 sheep. A good demand, consequent on the atattendance of country and Reefton buyers advanced prices for beef considerably and sheep quite Is fid per head. We sold on account of Messrs Abraham and Williams, 34 bullocks from £ll 2s fid to £lO ; 17 heifers from £8 7s fid to £7 7s fid; 200 wethers from 22s 3d to 20s 9d.
