Wellington, Aug. 19. The Premier received the following cable message:—“The Seventh Contingent made another large convoy capture. Officers and men all well.—Major Abbott, commanding.” Advice has been received from the Defence Office, Sydney, that a number of troops from South Africa are passengers by the Waihora, and due at Wellington on Wednesday 21sfc. The names are Sergt. Delatour, Corporal Griffiths, Privates Suttee, Scown, Orr, Findlater, Sharplin, Petchel, Dash wood, Sutherland, Watson, Powdrell, Chapman, Hamilton, Wright, Junss. The Premier has received advice that No, 2,352 Kobert Conn, of the New Zealand Artillery, was’ dangerously ill on the 17th at Kimberly of enteric fever.
