OUR KUMARA LETTER.

(OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

The annual meeting of the Kumara Jockey Club was held on Friday evening last at the Secretary’s office. There was a good attendance. A letter was received from Dr. Scott apologising for his absence, which was occasioned by pressure of business. The report which showed very satisfactory progress had been made, also the balance-sheet showing a good surplus as a result of the year’s operations, were read and adopted. All defaulting owners of trotters were ordered to bo posted. All other owners who are defaulters to bo given to September Ist to make good their accounts, otherwise they will likewise be posted. Letter from Secretary of Metropolitan in reference to appointing a starter. Deceived and consideration held over. The following Committee were elected : —D. M’Connon, E. Gebhart, F. Nyome, J. Ditchie, H. Burger, J. Gilbert, G. Anderson, W. J. Gilbert, E. Mulvihill, D. Rouse, and H. Picket. The following officers were elected President, D. McConnon :jYice-President, R. Rouse; Starter, J. Richie; Judge, G. Anderson; Clerk of Scales, R. Rouse; Clerk of Course, E. Mulvihill; Timekeeper, J. Gilbert; Secretary, G. R. Rudkin ; Treasurer, W. B. Gilbert; Handicappers, the Stewards; Course Committee : Messrs. D. McConnon, E. Gibbart, W. B. Gilbert, R. Rouse and J. Gilbert; Programme Committee: Messrs. D. McConnon, R. Rouse and the Secretary. Resolved that the thanks of the Club be conveyed to Mr. J, Petrie for his successful efforts on behalf of the Club at the Conference in securing the Easter dates for Kumara.
