NOTES FROM MOANA.

(our own correspondent

By far the most successful social of the season was held in the Moaua Ha l ! on Saturday evening last. The proceeds of this gathering go towards the purchase of an organ for church purposes. Great praise is due to the masterly manner in which the details were carried out by the energetic committee — Mesdmncs Cleveland, Gilmer, Hornby, Walsh, Lawson and Miss Stratford. Special credit is due to Mrs Gilmer, for the way she carried out her duties as Secretary, also to her assistants Misses M. Brooks and Hornby, The principal vocal items were “Killarney ”by Miss Sands; “England will sec it through,” Mr Kobb; “Wanderers Eeturu,” Mr Watson ; “ Anchor’s Weighed,” Mr Adler; “Gone at the knees,” Mr Halloran.

A step dance (Hornpipe) by Mr J. Marshall, received rounds of applause Dancing went with a fine swing all the evening with Messrs Kennedy and Miller as M.C’s.

The organ will be purchased tely as the Committee have now suflicieu funds in hand.

The decorations, ferns, etc., were very tastefully arranged.
