last evening, all members being present. The Mayor in the chair. , Levy from Charitable Aid Board for £215 per annum was received. Letters from Government Insurance Agents asking Counoil to insure their employees under the Workers Compensation Act. Held over. Prom James Dooley asking for share of Council’s work. Eeoeived. Prom W. M. Yowell resigning his position as Town Clerk. Accepted and applications ordered to be invited for the position of Clerk and Boad Overseer combined at a salary of £3 per week. The annual statement of estimates for the ensuing year were read. It was resolved that the special rates be increased to 9d and 6d in the £, and hospital and charitable aid rate to- lOdin the £, and general rates to Is 6d in the £. The Works Committee were instructed to visit the Blackball road and report. Cr. Creagh was appointed a member of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board vice Mr Bland resigned. Or.
