Three policemen at Pretoria while trying to arrest a notorious Boer spy, were fired upon by the latter, who shot one and effected bis escape. .Kitchener reports that a block house near Brandfort was rushed and captured on the night of the 7th after severe fighting. One British was killed and throe wounded. Eliott is sending down the lino 70 prisoners and a large quantity of stock and wagons captured in the district he is scouring.
