APPEAL TO EMPLOYERS.

Colonel Lucas, of the Imperial Yeomanry, has published the following appeal through the Press at Horae: —"As the members of the Imperial Yeomanry who went out to South Africa last your are now returning home, I venture, through the columns of the Press, to make a most earnest appeal to their former employers to take them back in the posts which they vacated with such patriotic spirit to serve their country at a critical time. It should

be the wish of everyone to endeavour to help those who have, in many cases, sacrifice so trnteh ami gone through such great hav.Wdpe. I regret to say many eases have heeo brought to my notice of men who have already returned being unable to find employment, some of them of a very diMres.-dog nature. No branch of His Majesty',s forees in South Africa have shown greater gallantry or done more valuable sendee (ban (lie Imperial Yeomanry, for out of a force of 10,1121 men and officers sent out last year the casualties up to date have amounted to 3300, of which 703 have been Killed or died of disease, tunouirtlng to about. tlO per cent., which, 1 believe, is the highest casualty percentage in any branch of the lorces that have served in Booth Africa. This testimony, I feel sure, speaks for itself, and I sincerely trust my appear will not ho in vain.”
