THE COLONY’S GOLD RETURNS.

During last mouth 31,3650zs of gold, valued at £117,095 was exported from New Zealand, as against 89,6790zs of the value of £191,853 in July of last year. Last month’s return was made up as follows : Auckland 16,2660z5, valued at £56,731. Dunedin 7,1210z5, valued at £28,184. Greymouth 6,294,0z5, valued at £25,788. Westport 1,1250z5, valued at £4,500 Nelson 6480z5, valued at £2,593. In order that these crude oils may not bo taken for our puraolotile Eucalypti Extract, which is recognise by the Medical Division of the Prussian Goarnment to be of perfectly pure origin, as per, nformaiion forwarded to us through the Consul at Melbourne, March 2, 1878, we vtate: — It is proved by tests made by the Medical Clinics of the Universities of Bonn and Griefswald (Prussia), and reported to by Dr Schultz Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Mossier, Directo of the Medical Clines M Griefswald that only products that are salinated with oxygen and freed of acids resinous and other substances adherent to primary distillation, will develop the sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude oils or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, arc to ,be classed according to the named authority is, among the turpentines, which are abandoned long since as an internal medicament. By their deficiency in pungent oa > (which our product, the only genuine Easa lypti Extract, develops most freely througu U surplus oxygen.) S. By their alcoholic, thin, and mobile appearance, being reduced to specific density Ihioogb the presence of acids.

3. By their taste, the result of contraot ing tendency of resins and tanats. If these crude oils, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are applied by mistake in oases of croup, bronchitis, dipthcria, internal inflammation, dyaentry, etc., the consequences are most appalling.
