Broken Hill Lead Mines. Received this Day at 9 58 a. m. Sydney, August 3. Owing to the low price of lead the Proprietary mine at Broken Hill closes each week from eight on Saturday morning till eight on Monday morning. This means a Icm of two shifts per week to the miners. Betting House Eaided.

Two betting houses were raided last night and a hundred and thirty five prisoners arrested.
