[PUB PRH33 ASSOCIATION] ’ Mount Lyell Metal. Melbourne, August 1. The Mount Lyell returns from June 27th to July 24th are 21,008 tons treated; also 7,450 tons purchased ore converters produced 740 tons of blistered copper, containing 732 tons of copper, and 46,518 ounces of silver, and 1,433 ounces of gold.
Queensland Revenue. Brisbane, .August 1. The Queensland Financial Statement shows the revenue to be .£4,327,000, which is short of the estimate by £267,000, due to drought and other causes, which reduced the revenue and added to the expenditure. The latter amounted to £4,855,000. The deficiency is to be covered by Treasury bills with 10 years' currency. No action will be taken regarding the imposition of the Income Tax till after the Federal tariff is passed. There will be no further taxation at present except to increase the stamp duty on receipts to Id on sums of 10s up to £1; 2d above that. The revenue next year is estimated at £3,908,000. and the expenditure £3,887,000.
