DREDGING.

{To the Editor.)

Sir. —lt’s passing strange the way West Coast people, who possess the business acumen of the canny Scott, have allowed themselves to be victimised by the many abuses connected with the dredging industry, and have not tried to get redress until a stranger namely, Mr Easton—comes among them and moves in the matter. Shareholders must wake up and support this gentleman, who is trying to get a revision of the Mining Companies Act. It is time something was done to stop some of the practices indulged in in connection with the industry.—l am &c.,

Shareholder, Dunedin, July 28 th, 1901.
