A commandant near Krugersdorp offered to send to the British camps all the female relatives of recent surrenders. The offer was accepted. Lacking provisions a commando with two guns entered Portuguese territory at Guanetz. Eight hundred Portuguese troops demanded their surrender. The main force of the Boers are within the quadralateral area bounded by lines drawn from Blanfort West to De Aar, thence to Storm berg, and by Queenstown to Blanfort West. They are split up in numerous bodies of from ten to 150. Another group is in Herschel, Alival North District, while a smaller collection are situated in the west. The farmers everywhere support the enemy. j.. Duplessis,. a Boer, has been arrested, for murdering Lieut. Neumeyer in the Eouxville District in 1900.
Vanrhyn, who was a member of the Cape Legislature, together with several farmers at Yanrhynsdorp, hare been arrested for treason during the invasion of the Cape territory in last January, They were admitted to bail.
