NEWTON PARK SCANDAL.
(pee press association.)
Wellington, This Day. The Military Commission appointed to inquire into the Newton Park scandal meets on Saturday. Some difficulty has arisen as to the appearance of Counsel before the Commission. Wilford has been informed that lawyers will not be allowed to appear and has been requested to hand in the names of certain witnesses. As he has been instructed to appear on behalf of certain parties at the inquiry he proposes to attend the first sitting of the Commission and formulate his charges, and it will be for the Commission to then decide whether Counsel shall take part in the proceedings.
