GOLD DREDGING.

The Caledonia pontoons, for which Mr Jay was the contractor, have been passed by the Engineer of the Company, The contract for erection of machinery has been let, and as all the machinery is on the claim, this dredge should have a trial run in about two months.

Great Woodstock— The pontoons wore floated last Wednesday. Greenstone Junction—This dredge is now working well and will bo free of all silt in the paddock this evening.

Greenstone Creek —The dredge has got through the barren ground and is now in more solid ground. Her re f urn this week will probably be 10oz. Next week should double this.

Hau Hau —The Hau Hau dredge started working three shifts last Wednesday with satisfactory results. Boss Day Dawns— An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Ross Day Dawn G. D. Company was hold yesterday afternoon when the following resolutions (moved by Mr Wales and seconded by Mr Cutten) was carried unanimously

“That the directors be authorised to borrow the sum of £IBOO on 360 debentures of the Company for the sum of £5 each, such debentures to be payable after date, but to be redeemable on giving 90 days’ notice in writing, and in the meantime until payment, to boar interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable half-yearly, such debentures to constitute a specific first charge on all the property of the Company.” (Ltd.) Three Mile Greenstone— This dredge is working well in solid ground and should give a return of 30ozs. Staffobd-Waimea. —The pontoons on this property will be floated on Wednesday next, with fitting ceremony for the occasion.
