FIRE ON A SUGAR STEAMER.

Received this day, at 10 24 a.m,
Adelaide, This Day. - A fire broke out on the steamer Balmoral lying at the wharf with 5,000 tons of Java sugar aboard. The fire broke out in the hold amidships, where there wore a thousand tons of sugar. Some 250 tons were destroyed, while probably a large quantity in the lower hold would bo damaged by water. The flames and boiling sugar, which spread in all directions, seriously' damaging the captain’s cabin, the saloon, store rooms, and fittings.
