HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.

The annual meeting of parishoners of the above church was hold in the schoolroom last evening and was largely attended. The Vicar presided and opened the proceedings with prayer. A few musical items occupied the first part. Miss Mabel Thomas played a pianoforte solo very nicely. Mr Arthur Yarrall sang “Over the Ocean Blue,” Miss Rosabel Webber “M3’ Ladv Lu” and Rev H. W. Howell “The Roll Call,” all being well received. The Vicar then called on Mr E. 13. Mabin the Peoples-Warden, to read the minutes of the last annual meeting which were. confirmed, the annual report and balance-sheet were then read and adopted and the Vicar’s address and report given. Mr J. G. Thomas was nominated Minister's, and Mr E. B. Mabin elected Peoples Warden. The following gentlemen were elected Vestrymen:—Messrs B. J. Thomas, G. S. Smith, 0. Kettle, J. Jay, Josiah Rogers, H. W. Young, E. J. Smith. A. Vickerman, H, Pavitt and H. S. Robinson.

The Parochial nominators elected were’ Messrs J. G. Thomas, J. Jay and A. Vickerman, the last named gentleman being appointed Auditor. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring Church officers, 'the Misses Basson, Mr Ohas Kettle, the Organist and members of the Choir, the Suporintendant and teachers of the Sunday School, and ladies of the congregation. From the various reports and balancesheets the Church is in a flourishing condition. The Church Itself being clear of debt and the Vicarage debt being reduced, to £275, this being the only liability. “To the 1 Parishioners of Trinity Chinch—We herewith beg to present to you the Annual Financial Statement of the Parish for the year ending June 30tb, 1901. We have reason to congratulate the Parishioners on a fairly satisfactory balance-sheet. The gross income for the year lias been the largest for many years past. The Church is now clear of debt, and the amount owing on the Vicarage has been reduced by over £2OO, and now stands at £275, and this at the present time is our only indebtedness. The. new gates presented by the late Sfics 1 Black have arrived, and will be erected in the course of a few weeks. The Church is greatly indebted to Mr Charles Kettle for Ins efforts on behalf of the Self-denial Offertory, the large sum contributed, being mainly due to his persistent, advocacy. We have also to thank him for his gift of two incandescent lamps to< the Church. Our thanks are also due to' Miss Eassou and those associated with her for the large sums of money raised by moans of entertainments. There has been a considerable falling off in the numbers of those who contribute through tlie envelopes, and also in those who pay the Is per month. We suggest that both of these admirable systems of aiding Church Finance be revived, also we strongly recommend the scriptural plan of tithe giving so ably advocated by the Venerable Archdeacon Grace.—J. G. Thomas, E. B. Mabin, Churchwardens.,

The musical programme was then coninued.

Miss M. Easson and M. Thomas opened with a pianoforte duet, Mr Staples a song, Miss Irene Taylor a recitation. Miss Swectmon sang 'Thou Everywhere’ and Master Goodall a cornet Solo ‘The Artistes.

Refreshments were then handed around, there being an abundance of toothsome delicacies for which the ladies received great praise. The singing of ‘Abide with Mo’ and the Benediction brought to a. close a very pleasant gathering.
