(per press association.—copyright.) [per press association.] Heavy Weather. Adelaide, July 21. Owing to the heavy weather the Ophir and Royal Arthur, which sailed for Freemantle, had to return. Destructive Fire at Nyngan. Sydney, July 21. A fire at Nyngan destroyed a block of nine business places, including the Joint Stock Bank. Two Barmaids Shot. At the close of the performance at Her Majesty’s Theatre a young man entered the bar adjoining the dress circle and fired three shots from a revolver at Jenkins, the barmaid. Two took effect seriously and the third struck a second girl, but not dangerously. The assailant escaped.' John Beal was arrested for shooting the barmaids. Jealousy was the cause.
