The first day’s racing of the Wellington Racing Club’s Winter Meeting was held under most favourable conditions, tho weather being perfect and the course in capital order. The attendance ot the public was much above the average, and the totalisator receipts showed an increase of £2,935 as compared with the first day of last year’s winter meeting. The following results came to hand after we went to press yesterday:— winter hurdles, Hotu 1 Dcrringcotte 2 Eodara 3 .All started. Won by two lengths. A neck between second and third. Time 45.
