COBDEN AND ITS REQUIREMENTS.

(2b the Editor.)

Sik, —The majority of the residents of Oobden are more than pleased to find the County Council doing something sensible in the way of repairs to the roads and drains of this hitherto much neglected town, and they would hope now the Council has made a beginning that the repairs will be effected in a thorough manner. The widening of the road from the bridge to the engine shed is a necessity, and siderails on the bridge situated about the middle of the main street should be replaced, as the bridge is really dangerous as it is now. It will not take a great deal to effect these mucn needed works besides, ihe Council should take into consideration the fact that Oobden has hitherto been a milch cow for the rest o

the County, not more than one sixth of its taxation having, for some years at least, been spent on works within its bounds. Yours,—

Ratepayer.
