CUSTOMS DUTIES.
The following was the amount of Customs) Duties collected at the port of Groymouth for the week ending 13th July, 1901:- S *
A sacred concert will be given in Trinity Church on Wednesday evening next. The programme is a good one and mostly consists of vocal solos. The soloists are Misses Pike, Perkins, Yarrall, Oxenham, Wilde, Easson, Sweetman, Chapman (2), and Messrs Pcgler, Staples, Lawn- Starke and Bev. H. York. West Coast ladies, who had occasion to travel by the Union Coy's steamer Haupiri, when Mrs Green was the popular stewardess, will learn with interest that she has retired from sea-faring life, and entered the married state. Mrs Green, who had bei n promoted to the 3.5. Moura, was recently made the recipient of a silver breakfast set, subscribed by the stewards of the steamer. Mr Paterson, the chief steward, made ihe presentation. The bridegroom is Mr G. A. Salt, of Dunedin, and we wish the popular bride and her partner every happiness which wedded life can bestow.
A meeting of the West Coast shareholders in the Perrett's Junction Lead Gold Dredging Co., was held at Revington's Hotel on the 10th inst, twenty-four shareholders representing 3500 shares being present. The following resolutions were carried: — 1. " That in view of Mr Smith's report and our experience on the coast of the quantity or gold per ton required to pay, to wind up the Company." 2. " That Mr Stokes be communicated with and asked to act for local shareholders so that above resolution be carristl into effect."
