Mr M’Nab calls attention to the enormous destruction of our timber, and urges the Government to consider the question of systematic tree planting. “During the time I have been in charge of tho railways, I have appointed 1300 men to the service.’’—Sir J. G. Ward’s disproof of the charge that recently men had been retrenched unduly.
