Wellington, This Day. Among the proposed amendments in the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill is one which enables a foreign company, doing business in the colony through an agent, to register as an Industrial Union.
Trades Unions arc to be entitled to become parties to on industrial disputes and a solicitor is tj appear before a board, it be is a bone fide principal in the dispute. Trades Unions may be bound by an award and joined as parties to a dispute and a. majority at a meeting may decide to refer a dispute to the board, The registrar may cancel the registration of a Union which has ceased to exist.
Mr. Lawry lias given notice of amendments providing tliat cadi party to a dispute shall appoint two members of the Board and that the chairman be appointed by the Government in order to ensure that disputes shall be dealt with by experts.
