Between Axel Askenbeck, as and being a Receiver of Gold Revenue for the Westland Mining District, exercising jurisdiction at Ahaura, Plaintiff, And Chow Fong and Bang Quin, late of Ford's Creek, miners, Defendants. NOTICE is hereby given under Section 278 (sub-section 1G) of "The Mining Act, 1898": (1.) That the said-named suit is for the recovery of ten shillings due for rent on Extended Claim License No 366, from Ist of January, 1900, to 30th of June, 1901, and. also for the cancellation of the said license. (2.) That I, Bartholomew Mathias Gough of Ahaura, Deputy Bailiff, am, and have been, unable to serve the above-named defendants since they have abandoned the said claim, left the locality and their address is not known. (3.) That, by direction of the Clerk' of the Warden's Court at Ahaura, I posted a copy of the summons and a copy of the statement of claim in the above suit upon the said Extended Claim on the Bth DAY of JULY, 1901, by affixing the said copies to a tree in a conspicuous position.
