A man named John Chevelin, says the Reefton Herald, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, and died there somewhat unexpectedly on Sunday night. Deceased was driving a dray from town to Plaskett’s farm on Saturday afternoon and when near Mr Anderson’s he complained of being unwell. Mr Anderson at once drove him to Dr Whitton’s, who ordered his removal to the hospital where he expired as stated. Owing to a mishap to 'one of the cog wheels on the winch, the Island Creek dredge was delayed and fortunately, the Directors of the Wareatea Co. gave permission to use one of their wheels, (which is precisely the same) until a new one can be procured, which wiU be about three weeks. There will be no wash up next week'as two days were lost.
