Greymouth Live Stock Market.

Mark Sprot and Co.report their sale at Preston road yesterday. Owing to the detention of one of the stock boa f s, the entrj of beef was limited to 52 heads of good quality bullocks and heifers. There was keen competition throughout and prices advanced from three to four shillings per hundred; sheep maintained current values. Wo sold on account of Messrs Abranam »nd Williams, 30 bullocks from £lO 15s averaging £9 15; 15 heifers from £8 12s ; averaging £B. Fat Sheep—22o ewes and wethers from 21s to 18s 6d.

Pigs—6o at £3 7s 6d for fats to 22s for stores,

Horses —At Ashton’s stables one extra heavy draught gelding at £65 10s ; one at £6O.

The entry of stock, owing to had weather and non-arrival of one of the steamers from Wanganui was not in keeping with the demand and ail lines were readily placed at satisfactory prices to the vendors. The entry consisted of 40 cattle, 200 sheep from Foxton, 7 cattle GO sheep from Lake Brunner district.

Wo sold on account of Mr Ryan, 7 prime qualily bullocks from £8 os to £9 10s. Fat Sheep—On account of Mrs Mary Evans, 60 owes, 15s 6d. Store Cattle and Pigs—On account of clients, heifers at £3 to £3 12s 6d ; store pigs, 20 at 16s 6d.
