HALL JONES EXPLAINS.
(PEB PBEBB ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, July 5, Hon. Mr Hall-Jones arrived from llotorua to-night. He was asked if there was any truth in the rumours regarding his, resignation. He said that the statement was altogether incorrect. Ho had not sent in his resignation, and if the report of the alleged interview at Timaru was correct then there must be some misunderstanding somewhere, as the relations between himself and the Premier are, and have always been, of the most cordial character. Possibly the rumors originated owing'to his having been indisposed for some little time prior to and during the Royal visit, ■ necessitating rest for a week or two and the advantage of the baths at Rotorua.
