[OUE OWN PARLIAMENTARY EEPOETER.] Boys and Cigarettes. Wellington, This Day. Col. Pitt has given notice in the Council to ask whether the Government will this session introduce legislation to suppress cigarette-smoking by boys under the age of fifteen years. Compliment to Railway Servants. The Minister of Education holds that there is no servant of the country who is more deserving of respect for his uniform civility and courtesy than the railway servant. Unlike railway servants in other countries, they do not receive “ tips,” and they are better for it. Leases in Perpetuity. Mr Barclay intends to move that, in the opinion of this House, the lease-in-perpetuity system of the disposal of Crown lands ought to be discontinued. The Grand Hotel Fire. Government will Hot decide whether a reward or free pardon .should be offered in connection with the Grand Hotel fire, Auckland, till the close of the inquest on the victims now proceeding.
