THE CHINESE ABOMINATION.
(To the Editor) Hark ! What is this edict That sounds from far and near The dead and buried Chinamen, Again must reappear.
Their odorous smell while still alive
Was surely bad enough. Must we be forced against our will To take this Chinese " snuff."
Rise up ye burghers one and all, And mightily protest That from our town of Grcyniouth We will banish this foul pest.
And from our peaceful acre, Let them keep their dead away. We do not want our ashes To mix with Chinese clay. ScHTBIiLEIt Threadncedle Street.
