Commandant Fouche'a object in making an excursion to Transkei was to obtain horßes which, entirely failed, the British, scouts pursuing him over the Drakenburg mountains.
Lord Kitchener assures Eeuter that his denial on June 10-h respecting the engagement at Warm Baths only implied that Commandant Beyers was not the Boer commander whom General Wilson defeated.
Lieut G, Baily of the Fifth New Zealand contingent has sailed for England.
