ANOTHER WAIL PROM OUR STREET.
(To the Editor.) Once more ye City Fathers, We are hnocking at your door, We troublesome Threadneedleites As we did once bof oro.
We thank you for your metal, That has filled a few mud holes ; But that is not the only thing, That troubles us poor souls.
Give us a light that we may see Our way when there's no moon To lighten up our darkness ; And ! Oh ! let it be soon.
A lamp just under Mrs. Meades' Would mako the street look bright, From the hill right down to Higgins's Even in the darkest night.
And gentle Borough Councillors, If you pity our sad plight, And give us what we plead for We will call it a York light. ScniBBLEE,
