A CONTRADICTION.

{To the Editor.)

Sir, —A paragraph appeared in your paper of the 11th June from your Goldsborough correspondent, relating to Lock’s Prospecting Syndicate, in which he says, “ I hear it has proved a rank duffer, and has gone into liquidation. ” Your correspondent is utterly wrong when he says it has proved a rank duffer, as a company is about to be formed to put on machinery and put the ground in working order. I would advise your correspondent if in the future ho wants any informition about Lock’s Prospecting Syndicate, to come to me before he rushes into print with street gossip. He has evidently tried to give this company a stab in the dark, as all the miners who have worked the adjoining ground, have always held a high opinion of the said property. If your correspondent cannot send you more reliable news than he did about the said Prospecting Syndicate, I would advise you to consign it to the W. P. B. . Thanking you in anticipation for taking up so much of your valuable paper I am etc., —

J. Lock, Secretary, Goldsborough, June 20tb, 1901.
