Auckland, June 20. An Interim Dividend.

Information has been received that the Board of Directors in London of the New Zealand and River Plate Land and Mortgage Company, Limited, has resolved to pay an interim dividend of 2J per cent for the six months ended April 30th. The dividend will be payable on July 6th. Jockey’s Fees. Wellingto * June 20, In the Supreme Court to-day the Chief Justice gave judgement in the case of Peters v, Telford an appeal from the judgment of Dr M’Arthur, S.M., who had given judgment for Telford (jockey) for certain riding, fees. The appeal was allowed on the ground that Telford was not a licensed jockey. A Licensing Appeal, The Court refused to grant a mandamus to compel the Suburbs Licensing Committee to grant a license to the Rainbow Hotel, Kaiwarawara, which it had refused on the ground that the place was not a fit habitation.
