OUR KUMARA LETTER.
(OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
The following tenders were dealt with for supplies to the Kumara Hospital for the current year:—Mr F. A. Olden, milk 3£d per quart; M. Murphy, beef 31 d per lb 4 nmtton 4jd per lb. It. Herring for rata, 26s per cord, 3ft; 23s for 2ft C. McMahon, and J. Close 28/6 per cord for 3ft; wood, 29/G for 2ft. Mr Herring’s tender was accepted. For bread the tender of Mr J. Woods at 4sd per 41b loaf, was accepted. Groceries : Owing to one of the members leaving the meeting, it lapsed for want of a quorum, and these latter tenders were not dealt with.
There are some enthusiastic cyclists in our midst, as is evidenced by the fact that two devotees of the wheel started to jjfko it to Christchurch on Tuesday morning to witness the reception of our Royal visitors. The Rev Mr Thompson and Mr Loo Chinese missionary were the plucky individuals. Few will envy them their trip under present weather conditions,
