THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.

A competition in Truth for additional verses to the National Anthem relating to the tour of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York has elicited the following, which may be well sung in schools: God save our Empire's heir, Watch o'er the royal pair, Grant them Thy grace: Borne on a favouring breeze, Waft them on summer seas, Countless true hearts to please, Welding the race. Then shall a Nation's voice Rising to Thee rejoice, And ever sing. One in our hope to-day, One in our future way, One in our faith, wc pray, God save the King. [Prom " Musical Herald," May, 1901.]
