Trouble in the Balkans. Sofia, June 17. A great meeting was held here, which condemned the Bulgarian and Eussian Governments' attitude towards Macedonia, and which demanded the liberation of the Macedonian Committee. The dispersed the crowd, who are making a 'demonstration where the Committee are confined. Bismarck Memorial Unveiled. London, June 17. A colossal memorial erected to Bismarck was unveiled at Berlin in the presenco of the Emperor, the Empress, and many thousands of spectators. Tho Kaiser eulogised the deceased statesman as a national hero, whose memory would live for ever. Count von Bulow pronounced a glowing panegyric.

Union Go's New Steamer. The Union Steamship Company of New Zealand has ordered a 8,500 ton steamer for the Australian and Indian trado. Russian Strike. The Daily Telegraph states that the workmen of the Baltic shipbuilding yard at St. Petersburg struck, requiring the Government building of vessels to be entirely in Eussian yards. Other yards sympathising have struck also. Destructive Fire A firo broke out at Galernij Island, where there are three Government shipbuilding yards, doing damage to the extent of 19 million roubles. The firemen saved a battleship and a cruiser in course of construction and which were almost completed. Twenty workmen perished in tho dames. The strikers are suspected of causing the fire.
