Steamer Collision —11 Lives Lost. New York, June 16. The ferry boat “ Mauncuchunk ” yesterday came into collision in the New York harbor with iheferry boat “Northfield,’’ which was carrying 800 people from New York to Staten Island. The “ Northfield ” had a hole torn in her bow and sank.
A panic occurred and many passengers jumped over-board. Boats were loweied and the passengers rescued with the exception of eleven. Irish Land Laws London, June 16. The Judge in the case O’Connor and Morris adjudicating compensation to land owners at Sligo for damage done to their property, denounced their incenoiarism being promoten by the United Irish League which he was convinced was a dangerous conspiracy and the inintimidation that the permeated country society was turned up-side down and the illegality of replacing the law.
