Patea Freezing Works
Patea, This Day,
The West Coast Refrigerating Company which has been formed for the purpose of freezing and storing dairy produce at Patea, met yesterday and reported that the support forthcoming was very satisfactory. It is decided to call tenders for the erection of works and other necessary machinery. The work is to be pushed on without delay. Sentenced for Forgery.
Wellington, June 7
George J. Aden, old gaol bird, alias D: Reid, who had pleaded guilty in the Magistrates’ Court, was sentenced by the Chief Justice to 8 years’ hard labour on several charges of forgery.

Mrs Atkinson formerly known as “Mrs Worthington” of “Temple of Truth” fame was found drowned early this morning in a fountain behind her residence which contained only about two and a half feet of water. The deceased was only recently married.
Later.
Mrs Atkinson ✓had been ill for some time, and was depressed, and refused to have any one sleep in the same room or sit up with her. On the servant going to
her room about six this morning, she found the bod empty. The deceased lady was found in an ornamental fountain in the grounds. Her feet were tied and she had a blanket wrapped round her. Gear Meat Company.
Wellington, This Day. The Gear Meat Company has declared a half yearly dividend of three per cent.
