In a fight at Tientsin amongst French, British and 'German soldiers, several were wounded and one Frenchman was killed. I •
U The Welsh. Fusiliers, acting as policemen, tried to prevent the French soldiers plundering a house on the Taku road. 200 French and Germans then attacked the Fusiliers with bayonets and bricks, wounding four. The Fusiliers then fired, killing one Frenchman and wounding three, also five Germans. A Router's despatch states that the Foreign Ministers farewelled General von AValdersee, and there was an impressive military display. The Germans' baggage includes an extraordinary number of Chinese carts, jinrickshaws, chairs and tables.
