TROUBLE AT A SHAREHOLDERS' MEETING.
Dunedin, This Day. Undor the heading of " Aftermath " of the Mining Boom, " I find the following in last night's Star : —" If reports from outside are to bo credited, the proceedings at Friday's meeting of the Robertson Cardrona Gold Dredging Company were of the liveliest character, and nearly ended in a free fight. It is said that chairs were overturned and seats knocked in during the progress of a very wordy warfare. The annual report was declared to be carried amidst disorder, and a resolution to take up a new claim called River View (on Ahaura River, West Coast) was held over until it was seen how adjacent claims were progressing, The dredge belonging to tho Company had been sold, so report goes, at a loss of £65 on the contract price. The amount allowed for Directors' fees has been reduced from £6O to £lO. The meeting is said to have broken up in confusion, and law proceedings are talked of."
