[BY ELKCTEIO telegraph—copyright]

(pep. press association,)

Received this day, at 8 58 a m. London, June 3,

Kruger is anxious lest Botha’s secretary and Smuts who were to have met the Dutch Consul at Standerton, shou'd be deputed to seek the Consul’s intervention with the British to secure a truce. The Consul returned to Pretoria from Standerton before the arrival of Botha’s delegates. Kitchener reports two additional Lieutenants of yeomanry killed, and another missing at Valkfontein on the 29th. The South African Constabulary near Pretoria captured a small party, including Abram Malan, Joubert’s son-in-law, until recently commandant at Pietersberg.
