The Turkish Postal Difficulty Received this day at 11 1G a. m. Constantinople, May 28.
The Turks severely criticise the action of Germany in insisting on farther valuable concessions for the Anatolian railway in return for her declining to support the European conceat in connection with the recent Postal Difficulty, Franca and Morocco. London, May 28.
Morocco has promised redress for Pouzet’s murder and a settlement of all the frontier difficulties.
A Colliery Explosion.
New York, May 29,
An explosion at Dayton colliery, Tennessee, killed 21 and grievously wounded 9 others.
International Miners’ Congress. London, May 28.
At the International Miners’ Congress being held at London the representatives of 101,000 miners voted for, and the representatives of 315,000 against the eight hours’ day. The voting was similar on the question of a minimum wage. The minority exclusively represented the Durham collieries.
The Bubonic Plague. London, May 29
For the week ended 18th instant 122 cases of plague occurred in Hong Kong. To date 123 fatal cases were reported.Docks for Shanghai.
The Hamburg-American line has purchased at the entrance of Shanghai harbour, a site 3000 feet long for docks.
