Received this day at 9 31 a. m. Melbourne, May 28. Gangers engaged guarding the lino near Wangaratta during the passage of the Royal (rain to Brisbane were attracted by a largo number of slips of paper thrown out of the carriage windows. To-day’s functions consist of a levee presentation of addresses, and tho LicntGovernor’s dinner at night.

Sprigg, Cape Premier, considers that the Government, and not the municipalities, ought to take tho initiative of the Royal reception, which will, therefore, he on a scale of grfuitmagnificence.
