The Greenstone Creek Company.
Christchurch, Saturday. Tho meeting called by Mr S. H. Graves! to consider the present position of theGreenstone Creek Gold Dredging Company was attended by seven shareholders last night. Tho convener was voted to tho chair, and in a lengthy speech indicated that of the four proposals made by the directors he preferred the one suggesting that a loan should bo raised on tho security of the dredge and the claim. He had drafted, out a small syndicate to raise £2OOO required, in shares of £SO each, to be repaid in six months, and to bear 20 per cent, interest. He had communicated with Mr Gillies, of Greymouth. who had telegraphed ‘.‘£lsoo quite ampleSyndicate here will take it practically/ terms your letter, but control must be onthis side. Wire what portion your friends-, will take.” , Mr Graves said that if they/ raised £IOOO on the Coast he would answer £IOOO here, and he thought if they could get the Coast people to accept terms that would bo agreeable to the directors, this would be the best way out of the difficulty.
