Blood is collecting a daily average of 60 prisoners .and surrenderors. The British finding Amersfoort deserted laid an ambush for Commandant Joubert, and Magistrate Sparwatter with five Boers entered, but bolted when challenged. Joubert and the Magistrate were wounded.
The Boers were reinforced, and the British retired to Qlasskop with three prisoners.
Jenaloben, late Transvaal PostmasterGeneral, has started a mission from Kruger to Botha. British agents shadow him, hoping to frustrate his mission. The Standard states that the British discovered 18 new 15-pounder Krupps buried at Kaiping, and sent them to Sinho awaiting orders. Private J. Hurrey (N. Z. Mounteds), dangerously wounded at Bethel, has since died.
