The Mayor has cabled to the Governor strongly urging that King Mahuta be allowed to present an address of welcome to the Duke of Cornwall at Auckland. It is expected that at least thirty large Uribes will be represented at Rotorua during the Eoyal visit. Active preparations are in progress at Botoraa for the reception of the Royal party. The new’ bath house is in a forward state and the main arch is in course of construction. The Grand Hotel has been connected with the telegraph system of the Colony to enable the Royal party to have independent communication with the large centres. The first contingent of 500 Maoris is on its way to BotoVua, on its arrival war danpes will be the order of the day.

Wellington, May 24. The Premier has received advice from the Governor, now in Sydney, stating the decision has been arrived at that heir Eoyal Highnesses will return from Dunedin to Lyttleton, and leave the latter port for Hobart. There is no chance of this arrangement being altered. Dunedin, May 20. The Union Company has placed the steamer Mokoia at the disposal of the Government, free of charge, for the use of their Eoyal Highnesses, should they desire to visit the Sounds. This handsome offer was communicated to the Duke by Lord Banfurly, and as soon as his Excellency reaches Brisbane, where he has been commanded to meet his Royal Highness, the decision of the latter will be made known.
