It is reported at Dclegoa that a big fight occurred on the 26th near Barberton. There were 61 British casualties and the Boers suffered heavily.

The news is not confirmed. The Boers killed Private Archibald Wookey (N. Z. Eough Eider) while attempting to escape. Eeceived. this day at 8 56 a m.

The Highland Light Infantry surprised a laager in the Brandfort district. Orange Colony, killing twelve Boers, wounding thirteen and capturing twelve. The Little Englanders Party are incensed that at the annual sessions of the Baptist Unions, members should be silent in regarding the war.
