Tho Times Tolrio ccrrospondent states that M. Do Giors proposed to Li Hung Chang that Russia should guarantee the indemnity in return for the political concession made to Eu3sia by China. Li Huug Ohang expressed his fear that such an arrangement would lead to rutsrepresentation. He said he hoped to restore Russia's intimate relations with China when the Court returned to Pekin. The Germans defeated tho Chinese at Annu Push, and occupied Kwangohang, which is outside General von Waldersee's sphere of action. In the Commons Viscount Cranbourne sSated that the proprietary rights to the lund claimed for tho railway company at Tientsin, through which Russia was pushiug roads, is not prejudiced by Russia's acrion, as the question of the ownership of the land wa3 reserved for negotiation.
