Determined Suicide.
Christchurch, May 17. William Garrett, grocer, of Wilson’s Road, was found by his wife at 7 o’clock this morning in the urinal with his throat cut. He was taken to the hospital and died at 11 o’clock.
Narrow Escape
Wellington, This Day. _ The coal hulk Omega was destroyed by fire last night. Hulk keeper (Woods) and family had a narrow escape, being asleep until a launch went alongside and roused them.
Royal Holidays. Wellington, May 18. The holidays in connection with the Royal visit will be gazetted to-day for the 17th, 18th and 20th.
